About our Charity: The VFW National Home For Children

The VFW Riders Sky Islands Chapter raises thousands of dollars every year to help support the VFW National Home For Children's Arizona Cottage. The majority of the proceeds for the POW/MIA Remembrance Run will go to support the VFW Home for Children,
specifically the Arizona Cottage. The VFW National Home for Children is not an orphanage or dormitory. Instead, the National Home is a neighbor-hood of 74 buildings on 629 acres of land which helps Veterans and their families build a better life. Currently the National Home for Children helps single parent households that are in need of help reestablish their lives after the loss of a loved one. Additionally the National Home also provides for supportive services to military families where one or both parents are deployed. The National Home for Children receives all of its funding through generous donations from the VFW, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, other organizations, and fundraising programs such as the POW/MIA Remembrance Run.
